Over 12 months, the programme will allow the young writers an opportunity to develop their work within the theatrical medium and be encouraged and supported to experiment and develop their voice as playwrights.

The programme will involve regular workshops with some of the UK’s leading playwrights and theatre creatives, visits to see theatre productions, play readings, and access to resources, as well as mentoring with the company’s artistic director Ali Anderson-Dyer and the Bunbury Banter team.

The writers will gain access to some of the UK’s leading and award-winning playwrights including May Sumbwanyambe, Nicola McCartney, Douglas Maxwell, Morna Young and Mariem Omari.

The writers will be taken on a journey towards creating their own final piece, which will be developed with professional actors, with a semi-staged presentation before an invited audience made up of Scottish theatre professionals.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 15 at 5pm.
