Panto trio are back in action at the SECC

JOHN Barrowman and the Krankies are back at the Clyde Auditorum today, which can only mean one thing — it’s well and truly Christmas.

It’s the fourth pantomime season for Glasgow-born television and west end star John — and he’s more than used to sharing the stage with seasoned panto stars the Krankies.

It was originally billed as Robin Hood, but there has since been a change of heart, and instead the trio are adding a Scottish twist to an old English folk tale, with Dick McWhittington — no prizes for guessing who’s in the lead
role.

Yes, Barrowman is taking his cat on the road, joined by councillor Krankie and — of course — wee Jimmy.

The show may not have started yet, but the verdict? We’re guessing it’s just
fandabidozi...

Executive producer Jonathan Kiley commented: “We’re delighted that John Barrowman and the Krankies are returning to Glasgow this Christmas.

“Audiences who have seen the on-stage chemistry of this trio in recent years will know that an unmissable treat is in store.”

The producer promises a traditional panto script with a unique Scottish flavour — add Glasgow panto audiences to the mix, and it’s a tried and tested recipe for festive
success.
