Enjoy the beauty of Rouken Glen on two wheels
Rouken Glen landed the 2016 title from the Fields in Trust organisation - established in 1925 by King George V as the National Playing Fields Association.
Now a new project is offering the chance to hire bikes to enjoy the much-loved green space, from the tranquillity of the shady glens and waterfall, to the graceful cygnets on the boating pond and the stunning walled garden.

Hide AdNeilston Development Trust (NDT) are running the Pedalwise Bike Hub with the support of East Renfrewshire Council and hope it will be a success.
Park visitors are being urged to “enjoy the safe (and not too hilly) off-road cycle paths, plan for a picnic, or take time to stop for a coffee or an ice cream”.
Bikes can be hired anywhere from one hour or longer between 10am-4pm, with the last hire from 3pm (longer hires by arrangement) and they have bikes to fit all ages and sizes. The hire includes a helmet and a lock, and prices start at £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s.
Under 16s can go for a ride themselves, but all hires must be signed off by a consenting adult and require a photograph ID and a returnable deposit, such as a driver’s license or credit card.
