LANARK schoolgirl Lucy Clark has been chosen for Scotland Girls under 15 football team to take part in a four team tournament in Germany.

Lucy (15), a fourth year pupil at Lanark Grammar, met up with the 18 strong squad on Saturday and, following training sessions in Renfrew and an overnight stay in Paisley, flew to Frankfurt, via Heathrow, on Sunday.

The Scotland girls will take part in a tournament over five days, playing games against Germany, Russia and finally Norway, before returning to Glasgow on Friday evening.

Lucy, who has been named as captain for Motherwell FC Girls under 17s for the new season, is on her first trip abroad with the SFA squad.

She previously travelled to Ireland with Scotland Schools to represent South Lanarkshire in the International Children's Games.

She will be hoping to impress the SFA coaching staff, as Scotland under 17 girls have important European Championship qualifying games in October.
