THE next Olympic Games may be three years away - but one Clydesdale teenager is already dreaming of gold medal glory.

Seventeen-year-old Lyle Walker, from Carstairs Junction, has made the Team GB Taekwon-do High Performance Academy squad and will soon be swapping Clydesdale for Manchester where he will be based as part of the elite team.

And for the next three years he will be hoping to impress the selectors enough to be on the plane to Rio and be part of the Team GB squad for the Olympics.

Lyle, who trains at the Skotia TKD Club in Carluke, said: “It’s a big change for me moving down to Manchester. I’m excited and apprehensive at the same time.”
