WITH over 60 horses taking part in the ride-out last Tuesday, there were plenty of competitors for the Lanimer Chases at the Racecourse.
And there was a good crowd to watch too. No fewer than 15 riders competed for the Metex trophy, prompting veteran Cornet Henry Shanks to comment afterwards that it was “almost like old times”.
Winners were: Metex Trophy, 1 Stuart Randell, 2 Hollie Leggate, 3 Iain Douglas; Pony Chase, 1 Tylar Adams, 2 Abbie Nicholson, 3 Ella Davidson; Mary McNeill Ladies chase, 1 Terri Weir, 2 Emma Forrest, 3 May Dickman; Cornets Chase 1 Stuart Wilson, 2 Mark Beattie, 3 Kenny Lean; Burgh Spurs 1 Nick Mill, 2 Ross Fitzgerald, 3 Jed McKenna.
Freelance photographer Rodger Price was on hand to capture all the action for the Gazette, featured here in our slideshow created for your viewing pleasure by Gazette editor Julie Currie.
