THERE was a tremendous atmosphere at Calderhead High School in Shotts as Carluke High beat Stonelaw High to become Scottish Schools under-18 volleyball champions.

Carluke High’s Marc McLaughlin (captain), Ryan Scott, Mathew Berry, Conor Walker, Stuart Mackenzie, Andrew Macleod and Jordan Scott excelled in what was a high pressure situation.

Marc said: “Getting to the final was an incredible experience and an honour for all of us in the team. We are very proud to be winners of the Scottish Cup.”
