ANOTHER two large trophies were landed by Lesmahagow taekwon-do sensation Mark Tomkins, who triumphed in under-eight points sparring and continuous sparring at the World Kickboxing Association Scottish Championships.

Motherwell’s Ravenscraig Sports Facility was the venue for the double gold medal success of Mark, of Kelso Avenue. The seven-year-old’s proud mum Kay said Mark had been “hyped up and ready” for these championships.

“It is a brilliant achievement for Mark,” Kay added.

“The family is over the moon for him.

“He was so determined to succeed in Motherwell in front of a packed arena. There was a really good atmosphere and it was absolutely mobbed with hundreds of folk from different organisations.”
