LANARK Grammar pupils Hannah Baird (17), of Auchenheath, and Euan Watson (15), of Hazelbank, won at the Lanarkshire Area Schools Badminton Championship.

Lanark YMCA member Hannah triumphed in the U19 girls singles, meaning she’d won her age group every year at secondary school. And clubmate Euan won the U16 boys singles by beating Thomas Darling.

Rebecca Dobbin won the U15 girls singles before teaming up with Alistair Orr to win the U16 mixed doubles and with Hannah Thompson (Carluke) to lose the U19 girls doubles.

Alistair played a fantastic boys U15 final but lost to Darren Reid, although he won the U16 boys doubles with Jordan Philip (Carluke).
