Erin McLeod wins national triathlon title

RISING Carnwath triathlon star Erin McLeod has picked up another title to add to her growing medal collection.

Erin, a member of Lanark Fusion triathlon club, recently won the Scottish National Triathlon Youth Championships, held at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.

The 15-year-old completed the 400 metre swim, 10k cycle and three kilometre run in a time of just 42 minutes.

She said: "It was a really hard course and I had someone in front of me for the whole of the swim.

"When I was cycling there was a girl who was fighting with me all the way but thankfully by the end of the run I had managed to pull away and at the end there was a bit of a gap.

"I was really pleased to win because the course was so difficult."
