Derek Brown ponders Lanark manager's job

DEREK 'Tiddler' Brown has told Gazette Sport that he'll decide by Thursday whether or not to take the Lanark United manager's hotseat.

Brown remained locked in talks with United committee men this week, as he mulls over a move to become Moor Park gaffer on a permanent basis.

He said: "I can't get peace if I'm out in the pub just now, with people coming up to me and asking if I'm going to become United manager!

"I must stress to everyone that I will definitely be involved with United in some capacity next season.

"Whether that will be as manager, coach or director of football, I don't know.

"Job titles mean nothing. It's what you do in the job that matters."

Brown would be a popular choice as new United gaffer with the club's fans.

For Tiddler recently masterminded the club's promotion to the Premier Superleague when he led them to a 3-2 aggregate victory over Glenafton after being drafted in following the shock resignation of Tony McInally to take over at Shotts.

For further information on this story, see this week's Carluke and Lanark Gazette, which is in the shops now.
