Carstairs lad Lyle Walker wins Scottish kickboxing gold

A CARSTAIRS lad of 16 who already stands 6ft 5ins tall is using his height advantage at such an early age to great effect in top martial arts contests.

Lanark Grammar pupil Lyle Walker, a member of Carluke-based Scotia TKD, won the gold medal for +70kg semi contact sparring at the prestigious WKA Scottish Kickboxing Championships - which saw over 200 competitors taking part.

“Lyle is huge and is a real talent,” said Scotia TKD press officer Fiona Trainer (37).
