Scott and Craig win Carnwath event

THE 2006 South Lanarkshire Junior Pairs Open Bowls Tournament organised by Clydesdale Sports Council was held at Carnwath Bowling Club on Sunday August 27, with brothers Scott and Craig Kirkwood (skip) from Whitburn Bowling Club victorious over Adam Cursiter and Donald Beaton (skip) from West Linton Bowling Club.

In the semi-finals, Scott and Craig defeated Scott Mitchell and Martin Jenkins from Airdrie Central Bowling Club by five shots to three, while Adam and Donald defeated Phillip Killen and Craig Manson also from Airdrie Central Bowling Club by six shots to two.

In a tense final the scores were tied at five shots each after five ends, but the Whitburn Bowling Club pair secured three shots in the final end to secure victory by eight shots to five.

The event was organised in conjunction with South Lanarkshire Leisure with the assistance of Carnwath Bowling Club.
