TEENAGER Cameron Watkins bagged a bronze medal at the International Children’s Games – before flying to Australia to begin a three-year swimming scholarship!

Fifteen-year-old Cameron, from Biggar, was part of Team Lanarkshire who travelled to the Games – held this year in Daegu, South Korea.

In a tough 100m freestyle race Cameron was well in the mix for a gold medal but was edged out by two swimmers from Asia and had to settle for a bronze medal instead.
