A fitting tribute to Carluke Rovers’ Clara Kay

Clara Kay died 2011

A FITTING tribute to Carluke Rovers stalwart Clara Kay is to be created at the John Cumming Stadium.

A tree will be planted in Clara’s honour at the stadium where her beloved Rovers now play after negotiations between the club and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture.

Clara, who died in June 2011 aged 75, had wanted her ashes scattered over the club’s former home Loch Park.

However, as the park has now been demolished and the new Tesco superstore stands in its place, it has now been decided that her ashes will be interred at the foot of the tree which will have a plaque to mark the spot.
