LANARK Amateur Swimming Club members performed so well at the West District Group 3 Championships in Dumfries that they once again finished top Lanarkshire club in the Mary Black points table.

In the 10/11 years age group Euan McComish won the best boy award, winning nine District titles from his nine swims. His gold medal haul came in the 100m and 200m butterfly, 100m and 200m breaststroke, 200m IM and the 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m freestyle.

Billy Davies, a welcome addition to the Lanark squad, won the 12-year-old boys 100m and 200m breaststroke in his first district meet for Lanark.
