FIVE Clydesdale primary schools took part in a feast of football at Lanark Racecourse.

The 219 pupils from Kirkfieldbank, St. Marys, Robert Owen, New Lanark and Underbank Primary Schools were part of the Tesco Bank Football Challenge.

The project introduces football to primary two and three children to the Beautiful Game.

St Mary’s Primary School teacher Fiona Smyth said: “The football festival has allowed the pupils to put their skills to the test and participate in much needed team events for pupils of this age.”
