Douglas’s Dr Robert Flowerdew runs Edinburgh Marathon

IT was appropriate that Douglas-based Dr Robert Flowerdew’s heart was beating fast as he ran the gruelling 26-mile Edinburgh Marathon.

For Dr Flowerdew (46), who has worked at Douglasdale Medical Practice for 15 years, completed the course on May 22 to raise over £1500 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

“I found running my first ever marathon very tough,” said Dr Flowerdew, of Glentaggart Farm.

“My ambition had been to run the entire way and I was delighted that I managed to do that.
