A RINK from Douglas Curling Club had a particularly n-ice time at the annual Sport Clydesdale Curling Bonspiel at Lanarkshire Ice Rink in Hamilton.

Douglas players Robin Scott (skip), John Trainer, Kerr Finlay and Robert Anderson finished as competition winners in an event which saw the Lanark Ladies Curling Club rink of Ann Ramsay (skip), Morag Sandilands, Christine Warren and Dot Moran finish as runners-up.

“The standard of play and camaraderie among the players was great,” said organiser Johan Steele of Clydesdale Sports Council.

“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Although it was competitive, the curlers also enjoyed the social aspect of it.

“This is the second year in a row Douglas have won.”
