THREE decades after their last experience of playing outdoors, members of Cambusnethan Curling Club again played in the open air at a frozen Lanark Loch.
Twelve members – the youngest being 17-year-old Scott Gibson – played on ice seven inches thick from 10am to 1.30pm on Monday December 27.
"Curling outdoors was almost like a once in a lifetime experience for us," said the Wishaw club's president Douglas MacKenzie (54, of Symington).
Players used a mixture of their own curling stones and ones
provided by George Cuthill of Lanark Golf Club.
After 12 ends of play between The Ribbons and The Ropes, The Ribbons triumphed 13-5.
