Double Portrait:
Filmed behind-the-scenes in Hockney’s home and studio as he prepares for two exhibitions of the work, and using interviews with his family and his oldest or closest friends who came to sit for him, the documentary explores the personal and private nature of Hockney’s portraiture and creates an intimate psychological portrait of the artist as he paints the relationships in his own life. Winner of Roma DOCFEST Best Film Award 2005, nominated Best Creative Documentary of FIPA 2004.
Running length: 49 minutes. Price just £16.95
A Bigger Picture:
Filmed over three years, this documentary captures David Hockney’s return from California to paint the East Yorkshire landscape of his childhood. As the film reaches an epic climax, a revealing portrait emerges of what inspires today’s greatest living British artist. Winner of Best Essay Award at FIFA, nominated Best Arts Documentary by the Grierson and International Emmy Awards.
Running length: 60 minutes and 55 minutes of extras. Price just £19.95
