Get snapping with our great new reader’s competition that could see your photographs hanging in homes around the world.

For our popular calendar we’ve decided that 2016 is the year we hand it over to you to come up with the images that signify what the towns, villages and beautiful Clydesdale countryside mean to the people who live here.

The search is on to find 13 stunning images that are unmistakably ‘Clydesdale’ for our 2016 best seller - one per month plus the coveted cover shot.

Capture our district on camera and you could find yourself in print.

Our competition is open to everyone - young and old. All you have to do is pick up your camera and choose the location or scene you think best sums up our wonderful area.

Can you come up with the images that will ‘wow’ our judges?

Here’s the details that you need to follow:

All images should be landscape, sent in jpeg and a minimum of 300dpi.

The deadline for entries is noon on Friday, September 18.

All entries must be of a location in the Clydesdale area. As this is a Lanark and Carluke Gazette commercial venture, copyright of entries must be waived for the calendar and all promotional events surrounding it.

Outwith these parameters copyright is retained by the photographer. Entries must be submitted to:

jim.holland@jpress.co.uk and clearly marked Calendar.

The photos that will be published in our 2016 calendar will be chosen by our panel of judges. Please note, only pictures taken in Clydesdale will be considered and they must be landscape, not portrait. Also, only pictures by amateur photographers will be considered for inclusion.
