Almost £4 million will be spent by South Lanarkshire Council on purchasing and improving council houses – but not one penny of it will be in Clydesdale.
The Scottish Government grant of £3.7 million will be used to buy more council houses and to better insulate properties in the Rutherglen, Cambuslang and East Kilbride areas.
That means that Clydesdale will miss out on the cash.
Clydesdale MSP Aileen Campbell said: ““While I welcome the council’s plans to build new affordable homes and improve its affordable housing stock, I will be seeking assurances from the council that Clydesdale will continue to receive appropriate investment.
“Even though we do not have large urban settlements, our need for affordable housing is just as real.”
