THERE was a record-breaking total entry of 1413 entered by 156 exhibitors from all over the UK at Peebles Poultry Club’s Championship Show.
The 2013 staging of Scotland’s largest one-day poultry show – hosted by Peebles and District Poultry and Bantam Club – followed the great success of last year’s silver jubilee championship show.
Stuart Williamson of Peebles Poultry Club said: “Once again the show was a great success and thanks go out to the volunteers who helped with building and dismantling the show as well as ensuring everything on the day ran smoothly.”
Show champion was the beautiful Pekin owned by farmer S Currie of Mauchlin, Ayrshire, with reserve champ being the large female Old English Game bred in 2012 and owned by B Welsh of Auchinleck, Ayrshire.
