Police have recovered what’s believed to be hundreds of cannabis plants following a raid on premises in the Stonehouse area.

Around 9.30am this morning (Wednesday 6 January) officers conducted an intelligence-led operation and searched an address under warrant in Strathaven Road in the Stonehouse area of Larkhall.

As a result 751 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of £375,500, were recovered from within the property.

A 60-year-old man has been arrested and is currently detained in police custody in connection with alleged drugs offences.

Detective Inspector Kevin Jamieson said: “Information from members of the public is absolutely vital to our efforts to address drugs crime and keep people safe across the Lanarkshire area.

“We have teams of dedicated officers working in our communities every day, executing warrants and targeting drug dealers and this seizure reinforces our commitment to disrupting those criminals who engage in the supply of controlled drugs.

“If you have information about drug activity in your area please contact police on 101 because we will listen to you and take action.”
