TOMORROW (Saturday) Gill Murray and her loyal band of helpers hold their annual Pink Day in Carluke’s Kirkton Church Hall in the fight against cancer.
The event runs from 11am to 3pm.
Ann Young and Marie Goulding sell Gill’s homemade tablet in their businesses all year round and have helped to raise thousands of pounds over several years.
On Saturday there will be stalls selling homemade tablet, home baking, Christmas cakes, hand knitted baby clothes, beauty products and lots of other goodies.
“This event is about the whole community pulling together to help fund Cancer Research UK’s vital research into breast cancer,” said Gill.
“I’d like to thank everyone who helps throughout the year like Ann and Marie and so many others, and all the helpers on the day who make the day so successful.”
Today (Friday) and tomorrow Alfie Macera will be supporting Gill by offering special pizzas for only £1 at his Fish Bar and Pizzaria.
“I’d like to thank Alfie Macera for coming up with a fabulous new idea to help raise funds,” added Gill.
“We are all helping to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
Rowan Main, local fundraising manager, Cancer Research UK said, “This is such a terrific fun idea and we’d like to thank Alfie for this wonderful idea and hope it’s a great success.”
Rowan continued, “Gill Murray’s Pink Day is an event which touches so many lives with all her family & friends coming together to make sure the day is fabulous fun, whether at the stalls, the tearoom with home baking or the children’s activities.
“Everyone is dedicated and committed to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK’s research into breast cancer.”
