A picture by Clydesdale photographer Andrew Wilson will be featured in a prestigious calendar...but you will have to wait until 2014 to enjoy it!

Andrew’s picture was one of 2750 entries in a competition run by Historic Scotland, which invited views of the 345 attractions, such as castles and abbeys, it runs for next year’s calendar.

Back in 2009, Andrew was invited to take pictures of the Linlithgow event, Party Like 1503 – complete with jousting knights and a banquet.

His pictures have already been widely used.

So he was delighted when his photograph of jousting knights at Linlithgow Castle was chosen as one of the 12 winners.

“I was quite surprised,” he said. “All the entries were of a pretty high standard.”
