A NEW exhibition is sure to have rail enthusiasts making tracks to Motherwell.
The All Aboard exhibition is part of the year long Celebrating Lanarkshire series of events and gives a fascinating insight to the part the county played in the development of Scotland’s rail network over the past 200 years.
The exhibition focuses on the history of Monklands having one of the first public railways and also features a collection of rare photographs and artefacts.
There is also a film telling the story of the men and women who built, worked and travelled on the local railways.
The exhibition runs until June 23 at North Lanarkshire’s Heritage Centre in Motherwell. Entry is free and it is open Monday to Saturday from 10am until 5pm. To find out more about the event visit www.lanarkshire2013.com.
