STARS of BBC television could be heading for Lanark to help restore a much-loved legacy to the town’s children, half a century after they lost it.

The likes of Anneka Rice, Phil Tufnell and the rest of the team from The Flowerpot Gang programme are being invited to transform the rubble-strewn wasteland in the South Vennel where Lanark Baths once stood into the beautiful children’s park it was when first bequeathed to the youngsters of the Royal Burgh in the 1920s.

The invite was issued by retired Church of Scotland minister, Rev Jim Seth, who lives just yards from the site in Wallace Court.
