Snow masterpieces by Laura Henderson, Carluke

WHILE most youngsters in Clydesdale were making snowmen during the cold snap a Carluke vet has taken it one step further.

Art loving 24-year-old Laura Henderson has been using her time off to create snow animals including a sabre-toothed tiger and a lion at her home in Hamilton Street.

In previous years she has created a polar bear, a cougar and a unicorn!

The animals have caused quite a sensation around the town. And Laura is delighted with her unusual art work — even though she can't get her car out of the drive because of them!

She said: "The lion took me two and a half hours to finish and the tiger took a bit longer at six hours.

"Hopefully the cold weather will be gone in the next few days but while the snow is here I thought I better make the most of it — even though I can't get my car out of the drive!"

Originally from Belfast, Laura moved to Carluke when she started at university in 2003.
