PUPILS from two Clydesdale primary schools named two new turbines as they cut the ribbons to officially open the extension to Muirhall Windfarm.
They called one Renewable Revolution and the other Electric Emily.
Auchengray-based Muirhall Energy welcomed the children from Auchengray Primary, the P3s and P4s from Carnwath Primary and MSP Aileen Campbell, to open the two turbine Muirhall Windfarm Extension.
Muirhall Energy, which challenged the children to write essays and come up with names in the competition, invited the winners to cut the ribbons and their classmates to come along to see the turbines up close.
“Renewable Revolution” was named and opened by Aimee Challioner, Jamie Waddell, Caleb Morrison and Louise Brownlie from Carnwath Primary School who won the competition.
And Ryan Bradshaw, Robert Marshall and Thomas Wilson from Auchengray Primary opened the second turbine “Electric Emily”.
The feature story is in this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette which is out now.
