LESMAHAGOW’S annual Highland Games was another superb success with the Chieftain’s Procession in the morning and plenty of action in the afternoon too.
There were countless fancy dress costumes in the procession, with plenty of youngsters taking the opportunity to dress up.
Everything from The Wizard of Oz to jungle animals made an appearance, as did the Commonwealth Games mascot Clyde.
Chieftain Donald Williams led the procession through the village to Glebe Park with his band mates from Coalburn IOR Pipe Band following closely behind before the crowning of Tartan Queen Ruth Haddow.
Highland Games secretary Lynn Callan said: “The good weather really brought out a lot more people and many people stayed at the Glebe all afternoon; it was very busy.”

Freelance photographer James Clare was on hand to capture all the action and his pictures are featured in our slideshow, created by Gazette editor Julie Currie.
