dFOR the first time in almost 40 years, Lanark is to have its own cinema again.

A major grant has made possible the conversion of the town’s Greyfriars Church Hall into a part-time picture house which will have a regular programme of recent cinema releases to appeal to the whole community.

That is the pledge of the church minister-turned-cinema manager of the new Bloomgate picture palace, the Rev Bryan Kerr.
