Forth Gala Day 2009

DRIZZLY conditions may have dampened Forth Gala Day's 45-minute procession but the sun shone brightly for the crowning of Queen-elect Hannah Blacklaw.

Hundreds of spectators of all ages created a party atmosphere in the Recreation Park to see the 11-year-old Forth Primary School pupil's coronation by Crowning Lady Mary Beech.

"I thought it was a fantastic day," Gala secretary Frances McGurk said.

"The good weather helped ensure that everyone enjoyed themselves."

Queen Hannah landed the Queen's role six years after being a flower girl at Forth Gala.

And her 14-year-old sister Nicole was Forth Gala Queen in 2006!

The youngster, who also has a younger brother Scott, enjoys

dancing, netball and running.
