IT’s windy up here – the cry of those leaving the minibus at the site high in the Lower Hills chosen for a photocall on Friday.

First Minister Alex Salmond was guest of honour at the isolated spot for the £500 million Clyde Wind Farm opening – so the weather was appropriate!

The chosen vantage point, at the base of one of the 152 giant turbines, level with the blades of others over the next hill, gave a panoramic view of regiments of them marching down the valley in the area bordered by Abington, Crawford and Elvanfoot.
