First Class PO in Elsrickle

ELSRICKLE Post Office has been shortlisted for the prestigious Best Scottish Post Office award.

Thanks to customers who have voted for the small village Post Office, Elsrickle will be up against much larger operations for the award, announced at the end of April.

Postmistress Isa Halley is delighted the post office has been recognised for its work.

She said: "I found out about a fortnight ago...it's very nice to be up for such a prestigious award.

"A few years ago we managed to win the Best Rural Branch Sub-Post Office award so hopefully we can win another one."

Elsrickle will be up against the Brandon Post Office in Motherwell and Netherton for the top award.

If successful Elsrickle will go onto the national finals in May.
