Fatal accident at Lanark bus stance

WARNINGS made in the Gazette that Clydesdale’s main bus terminus had become a danger to pedestrians have been tragically proven correct with the death there of a 70-year-old man.

Members of the public at Lanark Bus Stance looked on in helpless horror last Thursday afternoon as Mr Brendan Geraghty of Biggar was fatally injured.

He was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital but died of his injuries shortly after arrival.
