Douglas Gala Day is huge success
Douglas 2012 Gala Day 23/6/12
THE large puddles left after torrential rain failed to dampen spirits at Douglas Gala Day.
But the coronation of Queen Sharon Dunn, by crowning lady Jaclyn Welsh was moved indoors for the first time in years, as Crabtree Park was waterlogged.
Instead, it took place in the newly-refurbished St Bride’s Centre.
“I’ve been on the Gala Committee for five years and this is the first time we’ve had to move the crowning indoors,” said Gala chairperson Hazel Moule.
