FAMILIES in Carluke will be able to leave their own personal tributes as Armistice Day approaches this year.

For a Garden of Remembrance is going to be set out beside the cenotaph in Market Square and individuals will be able to plant crosses there in memory of loved ones during a special service.

High School pupils will take part in the service, on Friday, November 2.

Crosses will be available, for a donation to Poppy Scotland, at Carluke Lifestyles from Monday, October 29, to Thursday, November 1; from noon on Friday, November 2, they will be available in Market Square.

The service itself will be brief. It will start at 1.30pm and be led by a member of the clergy. A piper is needed to play a lament; to volunteer, contact Eileen Logan on 01698 454400.
