THERE has been some good news and some bad news for those campaigning against another windfarm in the Clydesdale countryside.

First the good news: the developer of the planned 19 turbine `farm’ at Middle Muir, Crawfordjohn has bowed to local pressure and reduced that number to 17, removing the two turbines which would have been closest to local homes.

However, the bad news is that, to compensate, developers Banks Renewables want to increase the height of the remaining turbines it wants to erect by 50 feet to just over 450 feet each.
