Carluke twinned...with Monte Carlo!

THE High Street might have betting shops rather than casinos and the boy racers on Carnwath Road are the closest thing it’ll get to a Grand Prix – but Carluke will forever be linked with glamorous Monte Carlo!

However, the new ‘Monte Carluke’ is purely a figment of the imagination and the product of a VERY quirky sense of humour.

Famed for its Scottish self-mickey-taking advertising campaigns, brewers Tennent’s recently asked the public to bolster its current Original Export ‘postcard’ promotion by linking Scottish towns in some way with famous international destinations.

The winner of this exercise in town twinning with a titter was 26-year-old David Morgan who came up with the ‘Monte Carluke’ idea which is to be used from this week on a nationwide billboard advertising campaign.
