CARLUKE is to get its own food co-op, offering cut-price goods, in a bid to help cash-strapped locals in these difficult times of austerity.

Representatives from project backers Making Ends Meet were this week meeting Clydesdale Food Bank co-ordinator Liz Paton with a view to getting the food co-op set up in the town by October.
