Carluke Gala Day Crowning Ceremony 2014 Slideshow

Waiting for Video...

A SIZZLING atmosphere to match the hours of wonderful warm weather – that was the story of a stunning 2014 Carluke Gala Day.

Thousands of people lined the streets to see the colourful procession of floats and bands head from Sandy Road into the town centre for the 12.15pm crowning of Gala Queen Claire-Jayne Rae in Market Square.

The family of Queen Claire-Jayne, an 11-year-old Crawforddyke Primary School pupil, looked on with immense pride as the youngster was given her coronation by crowning lady Linda Johnson.

Claire’s mum Elaine Allan said: “It was an amazing day; absolutely brilliant.”

And freelance photographer Roberto Cavieres was on hand to capture all the action for the Gazette, featured here in our slideshow created for your viewing pleasure by Gazette editor Julie Currie.

This week’s Gazette features a host of news and pictures from Carluke Gala Day 2014. And check out our other slideshow on this website for all the fun of the procession.
