A BIG hearted family from Carluke has successfully completed a series of skydives in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Lorraine Mathers’ 21-month-old son Reece was diagnosed with hypoparathyroidism – a rare condition which can cause muscle spasms, headaches and twitching, among other symptoms.

And so Lorraine, together with Reece’s aunts Michelle Roberts and Claire Clark and Reece’s uncle Thomas Muir decided to raise some much-needed money for charity HPTH UK by each doing a 10,000 foot tandem skydive at Strathallan.

Lorraine said: “What a day it was! The experience was absolutely out of this world and I enjoyed every single second of it.

“I would go back and do it all over again if I got the chance.

“I wanted to go last but, as the day unfolded, I ended up going first

“I was a bit scared to start with but once I was up there I was fine.

“I thought that the best part of the whole experience was when I got out of the plane and started to freefall.

“You are travelling at speeds of up to 120mph so it is quite a thrill.”
