Hidden dips on A706 - cyclist Colin McDougall (66) Forth 22/10/12

A CYCLIST is calling for a warning sign at a hidden dip, after two near-misses with cars overtaking on the A706 road to Forth.

Colin McDougall (66), from Carluke, cycles for his health, but the near-misses with cars have left him worried sick.

He contacted South Lanarkshire Council but received a response turning down his request for a warning sign.

However, the council told the Gazette this week that it will “reassess” the location to ensure it is appropriately marked.

For more information on this story, pick up a copy of this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette which is in the shops now.
