THOSE being buried at the new Lanark Cemetery might find it rather difficult to Rest In Peace – because some insensitive remote-control model car enthusiasts are using the recently-opened graveyard near Ravenstruther as a mini-race track!

Lanark Community Council heard this shocking news from its chairman Frank Gunning, who had witnessed this happening as he recently drove past the new cemetery, where burials have just started.

He observed what he assumed to be a father and son using the newly landcaped site – which used to be part of Springbank Farm – for racing model cars.

For full details, see this week’s Lanark Gazette.
