Aviation authority NATS objects to Hill Rig Windfarm

Blow...for proposed windfarm

Blow...for proposed windfarm

THE proposed Hill Rig windfarm at Kilncadzow has suffered a blow as aviation authority NATS announced it was objecting to the plans.

The NATS (formerly known as the National Air Traffic Services) objection is a blow to applicants Community Windpower Ltd but a boost to local residents who are campaigning against the eight turbine development.

NATS’ Technical and Operational Report said that the development would have an impact on the nearby Lowther Hill Radar.

Objections have also been submitted by the Forestry Commission and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA).

The Forestry Commission said that no development should go ahead until a Compensatory Planting Plan had been submitted while SEPA stated that it objected due to a lack of information regarding forestry waste.
