LANARK people are being invited to congregate at the foot of the High Street at noon today (Friday) to observe the minute’s silence for the victims of Tunisia.

The Community Council is asking townspeople to gather in the open space beside the Tolbooth to observe the silence and have a moment of prayer.

The silence is being observed nationally at noon, a week after the outrage in which holidaymakers were killed in a terror attack, and flags will be flown at half-mast over Whitehall departments and Buckingham Palace.
