KIRKFIELDBANK Primary pupils and staff celebrated the official opening of their new school with a Scottish celebration.
The school’s 52 pupils put on an impressive show for the audience of invited guests and local dignitaries at the opening which was combined with a Burns celebration.
Head teacher Joy Deacon said: “It was my pleasure to welcome everyone to Kirkfieldbank Primary.
“During their performance the pupils reflected upon the school motto and values, ‘Caring, Happy, Learning, Achieving, Together’.”
Children researched and put on a performance for the local community about the history of the school.
They wrote and published poems and created a wonderful mosaic about the ‘school on the hill’.
Pupils also discussed the history of the school and their hopes for the future before entertaining guests with a rendition of I Feel Good.
