Carluke Rotary Club has donated £14,230 to Erskine Hospital.
At the club's latest meeting, Erin Leggate from the hospital gave the Rotarians a history of Erskine, which opened in 1916 as Princess Louise Scottish hospital for limbless soldiers and sailors.
In 2000 Erskine home in Bishopton was opened and it is in picturesque grounds by the Erskine bridge. Erin told the members that this purpose-built home provides nursing and dementia care both long term and respite for 180 residents 24 hours a day.
Each year Erskine cares for over 1000 ex servicemen and women of all ages.
Erskine has to raise £8.8m a year to keep it going .
Carluke Rotary is glad to support the hospital and made a donation of £14230 to its funds, and Erskine awarded a centenary medal to the Rotary club of Carluke for its efforts in fundraising.
